About

Dear Zulaikha,

The following is a dream I saw of you on June 10, 2013:

Seated beneath a starry night sky in a vast desert with a colossal gathering, I saw you in Royal Arabian attire reciting poetry to an audience. You wore a silken Bedouin attire and held a golden pearl-studded wine goblet with which you drank from.

I sat and listened to you recite among the audience. We were mesmerized by the recital; which was full of mystical rhythm and flavor..it’s hard to describe the feeling, but I felt as if we were all in a trance. The ambiance was superb. A pitch black starry sky and we all sat beneath with dim candle lights… In this intriguing  gathering, I noted there were three important personalities; The famed Kings of Arabia: H.R.H. King Khalid, King Faisal and  King Abdullah. They too, as if in trance, cheered you on. I saw King Faisal rise and approach you with a trophy like reward or gift. You received it with grace and poise. I recall you being very composed and regal throughout and post recital.  This dream carried on throughout the night until I awoke. I felt the serenity. After arising fom sleep, I felt it a must to contact you and share this.  ”WOW!!” is all I have to say and it was very therapeutic listening to you! (Fatiha)

Crystal Dream with Hashemite Queen

August 27, 2015

I was dropped of at a home (in Hijaz) and there I met a royal Hashemite lady. She explained how she is the wife of the last King in Hijaz. Her features were most beautiful and she was dressed in a elegant dress that looked old fashion from todays standards. The home had an regal aura  yet all interiors did not befit the decor of a King’s home..rather shabby in comparison. I asked the lady if she was a Hashemite and she replied in the affirmative, as if relieved with the query. She spoke reminiscing the past on her about her famed beauty. She gave me her telephone number. Later,  I recall a variety of decorative antiques that were placed next to her. I was seated on a carpet below and she was seated on a small couch. She lifted each decorative object one by one and handed them to me to view. All of these objects were made of precious stones and crystals.. My mode of response to viewing each object was a traditional kiss and placing the object on my eyes then handing them back  (the kissing action is typically the protocol of handling holy relics). Among the crystal and gem stone items were decorative objects made with these crystals and lots of raw cluster crystals . I recall a blue classic convertible car made of blue gem stone. I recall raw blue and pink crystals and medium cluster rock crystals. Then one of the ladies in the gathering who was seated on a carpet in the middle of the room started singing praises on the Prophet in Arabic..it was Qasida Burda and I knew the  lyrics being recited. I recall reciting with or after them. The drum instrument of the Qasida reciter caught my attention. It had a depiction of a whirling dervish on it. I recall telling them I was initiated into the Mevlevi sufi order and they understood what that meant. I also told them that I was initiated in hilm/dream explaining that saints appearing in dreams is a normal mode of support for seekers in this region due to the restrictions here. I did not want to leave until I said goodbye to the elderly Hashemite “Queen” As I searched for her in the home, I recall overhearing my husband who was seated in the men’s living room with other males..hence I felt I shouldn’t rush to leave as my husband was already comfortably seated with the males. Then after leaving  that scene I was near a sea. I had two other females with me..cannot recall who they were. The ring I wore caught their attention, I showed them the rather large size ring and  had no idea on how I acquired it. The ring had a clear quartz band and another clear quartz mini cluster above it to support the centre stones of the ring which were turquoise/feyroze. The ring was clearly unique.

Dream with HRH King Salman

September 22, 2015

Location Madina Munawarrah

A day after arriving to the blessed city, I saw the following, I was seated next to King Salman. He and I both had our heads uncovered. I spoke to him regarding my maternal uncle, Sayyid Vicarduudin, who often gets Royal invites to the Kingdom. He acknowledged and said something in relation to him and King Abdullah (perhaps their relationship). While I sat with him, I asked my eldest son to find a specific book on my uncle in order to show HRH the images and works of Sayyid Vicaruddin. I also recall the King placing his head on my shoulder like a grandfatherly gesture.  Later, I asked HRH King Salman if he would like to listen to my poetry. He smiled in the affirmative. I prepared myself to recite to him.

Zulaikha’s passion for poetry started in her primary years dating back as early as grade eight and has now come to full bloom in the land of her forefathers. Zulaikha claims to have drunk from the ‘Cup of Khayyam’ when she initially started writing poetry as a minor and considers the latter and the Rumi-Shems duo as her celestial mentors. Her carefully selected themes such as love, wine, separation and union, soulmates, and Ahlul Beit to name a few, may raise brows here, yet she is adamant in crossing ideological boundaries through the art of poetic expression in order to achieve a sense of humanistic equilibrium and unity. “Hearts and minds open up when words encapsulated in tablets of love touch the soul; a healing effect, says Zulaikha. All her works are expressions of her personal experience in the ‘Land of Love’ and have a lot to do with the ‘special friends’ she meets along the way.

Zulaikha recalls her tender impressions of Arabia as warm, enriching and mysterious. She concludes her work is symbolically linked with three key remnants she received during the two year period she lived in Dahran as a child. These three remnants, she remarks, are a soul mate story book, a stuffed unicorn and a pair of sturdy scissors. Strange enough, these are the only three childhood items from Saudi Arabia that have mysteriously remained with me for over two and a half decades, says Zulaikha.  “I was unconsciously initiated into the Path of Love with a western children’s classic story of two dinosaur ’soul-friends,’ akin to the famous Eastern legend of Mevlana Rumi and Shems Tabrez. Our life’s path may open up to us in different shapes and forms, sometimes gradual, and for some, suddenly. It is how we choose to receive and utilize such openings. There is a calling for each one of us, directing us towards our life’s path.”  As long as Zulaikha is stationed in Arabia, her passion to express through pen, brush and of course the cup shall not halt.
