As I Lay in Silence

by the night

as it conceals lovers in union

by the day which exposes duality

by the sun and moon

thriving on drama

here I lay in silence

upon this blessed mount

beneath the stars who gaze at you

from time eternity

as I lay in silence

Uhud stares back at me

the wind carries your precious breath

of perfumed rosary

here I am in silence

thinking of the moon

no where do I see her face

the sun stole her away

here we lay in silence

lamenting this cosmic play

I wonder why these lovers feign

a separation full of pain

this colossal tale they tell again

of yearning day and night

neither sun nor moon in sight

Is this not sufficient proof
